Avinashlingam Institute Of Home Science And Higher Education For Women (deemed University)   Dr.T.S.Avinashilingam, a great educationist, a freedom fighter, an associate of Mahatma Gandhi, an ardent follower of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, the first education minister of Independent Madras Province founded this group of Institutions under the Avinashilingam Education Trust. First started in 1957 as a Avinashilingam Home Science College for Girls, later became an autonomous college and became a Deemed University under the name Avinashilingam Institute For Home Science And Higher Education For Women in 1988.

            This University offers education at the Under Graduate, Post Graduate levels and provides opportunities for doing research leading to M.Phil. and Ph.D Degrees. Specialized education is given along with Indian culture and social moral and spiritual values.
