EGS Pillay Engineering College was incepted in the academic year 1995-96 EGS Pillay Engineering College is the brainchild of Chevalier G.S.Pillay, who altered the landscape of Nagapattinam by setting up various Educational Institutions.
This college is set up by G.S. Pillay and Sons Charitable and Educational Trust. It was established on 10th September 1981, by the illustrious philanthropist and industrialist G.S. Pillay who has been endowed with a missionary zeal, a vision and a commitment of a rare order, to contribute to the much needed development of education to the needy people. E.G.S. Pillay Engineering College has the unique distinction of becoming the first and foremost in the order of Institutions set up by him.
