The M.I.E.T. Engineering College was established by the Mohamed Institute of Education and Technology Society, Tiruchirappalli in the year 1998, a Society registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, at the initiative of Alhaj A. Mohamed Yunus, an industrialist-cum- educationist as Founder Secretary and Alhaj S.M. Hassan Mohamed, a Philanthropist as Founder President with an objective to promote the cause of higher education. The College is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is recognised as a Muslim Minority Institution under the constitution of India.
