            Mahendra Engineering College is a unit of Mahendra Educational Trust (MET). The Trust was founded in 1978 by Shri.M.G.Bharathkumar, a renowned educationist and a philanthropist. The college is being managed by MET which runs four Matriculation / Higher Secondary Schools and an Arts and Science College at Kalippatti, Sembampalayam, Kumaramanaglam, all in Tiruchengode Taluk, Namakkal District, Tamilnadu.

            The college was started in 1995 with the approval of AICTE and affiliated to University of Madras with Mechanical, E.C.E and CSE branches. Today the college offers several basic Engineering / Applied Science UG programmes and PG Programmes. The college’s strength has grown from 180 students in 1995 to about 2000 in 2005. The college is now affiliated to Anna University. The total built up area of the present infrastructural facility is 31,970 Sq.m.
