About the Institute
MNIT is one of the 18 NIT's established in different states of the country. Goverened by the NIT council, the institute has four statutory bodies, namely, the Board of Governors,the Finance committee, the building and works committee and the Senate.
The institute is fully funded by MHRD, the Government of, india, New Delhi. The non-plan and plan budget is of the order of Rs. 12 crores and Rs. 6 crores per annum. The Institute is flourishing under the dynamic leadership of Sh.Mukul S. Kasliwal, Managing Director, S Kumars Ltd., who is the Chairman, Board of Governors. Many eminent persons from different parts of the country are on the statutory bodies and are helping the MNIT with their vast and rich experience.

Admission
Under Graduate Admissions
The admissions in MNIT is processed through All India Engineering Entrance Examination(AIEEE), conducted by C.B.S.E on behalf of M.H.R.D., New Delhi. This year over 320,000 students appeared for the competition.
Postgraduate programmes
The postgraduate programmes of study in Engineering include ten full-time programmes in different specialisations leading to M.Tech. degree and postgraduate programme of study in Science include three full time programmes in different specialization leading to M.Sc. degree. International Students
Foreign candidates seeking admission to various courses should apply through the Govt. of India or under Cultural Exchange Programmes, or through Educational Consultants (India) Ltd., New Delhi. They may seek necessary help from the Indian Embassy in their country or their Embassy in India.
Foreign candidates are required to undergo medical examination as per medical rules of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.
Foreign candidates will be admitted only after obtaining the clearance from the Govt. of India. Foreign candidates having students/provisional students visa only are eligible for admission
Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad Scheme.
